Personal & Family Camping and Lodging

Long Scraggy welcomes individuals and families to camp at the ranch when the ranch is not being used by larger groups. We are a family camping friendly environment that promotes Christian fellowship, character, and service. If you, or your family, is looking for a camp site for your tent, RV, or trailer our variety of sites may fit your needs.  All ranch amenities, such as the Roundhouse, kitchen, and pool, are available to all guests.

Camping accommodations include the following:  

  • 4 campsites with electric and water hookups. These are located near the Roundhouse.  These sites are available for medium size trailers, RVs and tents.
  • Open “dry” camping locations are also available near stables. These sites are located about 2 blocks from the Roundhouse and the nearest restroom.
  • Wilderness camp contains 10 small tent sites and 1 open area for up to 2 trailers, RVs or large tents.
  • The open field near the pond can accommodate several more RVs or campers. Large RVs and trailers can also park at this location.
  • Camping guests can use the restrooms and showers located in the nearby Roundhouse and bathhouse.

Long Scraggy provides many options for the perfect family camping experience:  

  • Hookups– The Ranch offers 4 campsites with electric and water hookups.  
  • Wilderness camp– Also available are 10 tent sites near the pond, perfect for youth groups, boy scouts or girl scouts.
  • RV sites– We can accommodate large RVs at various locations on the Ranch property.
  • Dumping station- Long Scraggy has an RV dumping station for a fee of $8

 

Personal & Family Lodging

Long Scraggy Mountain Ranch rents out our lodging facilities to individuals and families when the ranch is not being used by larger groups. We are a family friendly environment that promotes Christian fellowship, character and service.  If you, or your family, is looking for a cabin to rent, our variety of lodging options may fit your needs.  All ranch amenities, such as the Roundhouse, kitchen, and pool, are available to all guests.

Lodging accommodations include the following:

Grand Fir– This stand-alone cabin sleeps up to 4 people.  The Grand Fir has a kitchenette with a double sofa sleeper, a bedroom with a queen bed, and a private bathroom. Screened porch provides dining and sitting options to rest and relax.

The Pines– The Pines contains 4 individual cabins complete with a private bath in each cabin.  Each room contains a double or queen bed and 2 bunk beds to accommodate 1-6 people.  Perfect for families.  Guests can use the nearby Roundhouse kitchen, community campfire pit, or picnic Pavilion for meals.

The Aspen– This stand alone cabin sleeps up to 4 people in 2 sets of single bunk beds.  Guests can use the nearby Roundhouse bathroom, complete with showers along with the Roundhouse kitchen, community campfire pit, or picnic Pavilion for meals

The Clems– This stand alone cabin can accommodate up to 9 people in single bunk beds.  Guests use the bathhouse or Roundhouse bathrooms along with the Roundhouse kitchen, community campfire pit, or picnic Pavilion for meals

Wall tents– There are 2 large wall tents.  Each tent contains 9 single bed cots.  Very spacious option.  Guests use the bathhouse or Roundhouse bathrooms along with the Roundhouse kitchen, community campfire pit, or picnic Pavilion for meals..

The Juniper– Contains 2 separate rooms.  Each room sleeps 9 people in single bunks.  Guests can use the nearby bathhouse or Roundhouse bathrooms. Guests can use the Roundhouse kitchen, community campfire pit, or picnic Pavilion for meals.

The Ponderosa– This large bunkhouse contains 7 separate rooms which sleep 9 people in single bunks in each room.  Guests can use the nearby bathhouse. Guests can use the Roundhouse kitchen, community campfire pit, or picnic Pavilion for meals.

The cabins, Roundhouse, and pavilion are also located close to the 4 campground sites and cabins.  This allows groups to utilize both the campgrounds and cabins during their stay.

Rates

Personal & Family Camping  and Lodging Rates

Individual Campsites – Rates vary from $25 – $65 per night,  water and electric is available at some sites

Lodging – Rates vary between $75-$120 per night,  some room contain individual bathrooms

Bathhouse is open to all guest

Roundhouse kitchen and eating area is open to all guest

For All Cabins/Rooms/Tents there is a limit of 1 family or 4 individuals per Cabin/Room/Tent – Additional individuals / non-family members can be added for $22 per night

Rules

Rules For Groups at Long Scraggy

Please read the following rules to make your stay at Long Scraggy an enjoyable experience for

you and our other guests. Failure to follow these rules may result in corrective action, including

the loss of current and/or future use of the ranch.

1. Responsibility:

● The Rocky Mountain Christian Conference Grounds Association (RMCCGA) is the legal

owner of Long Scraggy Mountain Ranch. RMCCGA is a Christian organization and expects all

guests to respect and support its Christian values.

● RMCCGA is not responsible for personal injury occurring while on the Ranch grounds.

Guests must assure that their group is properly insured and that the rules are fully explained to

all participants.

● Guests are responsible to provide adequate adult supervision for all members of their

group at all times – including at least one adult sleeping in each cabin with children. Guests are

responsible to provide their own adult supervision at the pool, and their own qualified supervisor

at the rifle and archery ranges. Guests must provide their own supervision for the use of the

team building structures. It is advised that the group have someone who can administer first aid.

2. Hours: Check-in time and check out time is specified in your contract. Quiet time is

from 10pm to 7am daily, and must be strictly observed out of courtesy to other guests and to the

neighboring houses – sound carries easily down the valley. Use the dinner bell only when

necessary. Pool hours are from 9am to 9pm daily. Rifle range hours are 9am to 5pm daily,

except on Sunday noon to 5pm. These hours are set by zoning ordinance and MUST be strictly

observed.

3. Check-in and Check-out: The guest group’s leader must check in with the Ranch Hosts

at the office in the ranch house immediately upon arrival, before their group occupies buildings.

It is advised that their leader inspect, along with the Ranch Host, each building to make sure

that all is in working order. Upon departure, the group leader must notify the Ranch Host of any

damages, assure that all cleaning has been performed, and pay the bill.

4. Vehicles: The speed limit on Ranch grounds is 10 mph – please be alert for children!

Guests may drive their vehicles to the cabins to unload. After unloading, park them on the

graded area near the swimming pool and leave them there for the duration of your stay.

Operating motorbikes and all-terrain vehicles on the ranch grounds is strictly forbidden.

5. Alcoholic Beverages: No alcoholic beverages are allowed at the Ranch. Exceptions

may be requested and must be granted by the Ranch Host before the guest group’s arrival at

the Ranch.

6. Fires and Smoking: Fires are permitted only in the fire rings in the campground.

Please fill the provided buckets with water for extinguishing the fire. Charcoal fires are permitted

in personal grills. Prior to starting fires, please notify the Ranch Hosts to ensure there are no fire

bans in place. Long Scraggy has a large gas grill for guest use. Smoking is not permitted

inside any building. Be sure cigarette butts are completely extinguished before putting them in

trash cans.

7. Fishing Pond: Catch and release fishing is permitted in our pond. Flies and lures only.

No wading or swimming is allowed in the pond. All children must have adult supervision. Stay

off of ice if it is present.

8. Rifle Range: Please pick up spent brass and put it in the bucket at range. Clean up any

targets (pop cans, etc.) and place them in the trash can. The rifle range is for .22 caliber rifles or

smaller. Please

obey the allowed times for shooting. Rifle range hours are 9am to 5pm daily,

except on Sunday noon to 5pm. These hours are set by zoning ordinance and MUST be strictly

observed
