About Us
Long Scraggy Ranch is a special place which strives to serve God by giving our users a clean, safe, friendly environment to enjoy the outdoors. The Camp has been serving the Lord since 1971. We are surrounded almost entirely by the Pike National Forest and are within ten minutes of the North Fork of the South Platte River and about 20 minutes from the South Fork of the South Platte River. The Camp sits at an elevation of roughly 7400’. Our average temperatures are usually 10 degrees less than what Denver is forecasted.
Long Scraggy was purchased by the Rocky Mountain Christian Conference Grounds, which is made up of the youth groups from the Christian Reformed Churches of Denver. We currently have Board members from 1st Christian Reformed, Hope Fellowship Christian Reformed, Hillcrest Christian Reformed, and Connections Church. We also work very closely with the Calvin Camp.
Calvin Camp is a camp for youth. Calvin camp is held for two weeks each year in July. Each week is broken down into different age groups. Activities include Bible, Crafts, Archery, Rifle range, Games, Fishing, and Swimming. It is a great time for youth to grow in the Lord and to start and/or strengthen friendships. Please feel free to contact Long Scraggy Mountain Ranch for more information.
We serve many groups including individuals, families, church retreats, and family reunions. One of our primary goals is to serve Christian youth. We love seeing the excitement on children’s faces as they run to their cabin for the first time.
Our Purpose:
“to provide grounds, buildings, and every kind of means and facilities for Christian fellowship and for the promotion of the Christian character and service through spiritual, mental, societal, and physical training.”
