Q. How many can you sleep? A. Up to about 105 in cabins, plus 7 campsites with water and electric hook-ups. Q. What about dining space? A. We can seat up to 120 in the Roundhouse dining hall. Q. When is the pool open? Is it heated? A. The pool is open from late spring to early fall, depending somewhat on how many guest groups are booked. Yes, the water is heated to 80 degrees, and the greenhouse enclosure keeps it nice and warm. Q. Do your cabins have baths? A. Five cabins, each sleeping four or more, have attached baths. The larger, bunkhouse-style cabins share a separate, nearby bathhouse. Q. What is there to do? A. Besides enjoying good company and eating and sleeping, there is plenty of hiking in the surrounding Pike National Forest. A favorite with kids and families is the swimming pool, which does include a toddler wading pool. There’s also a playground for the little ones. Outdoor sports areas are here for archery, riflery, soccer, softball, volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, and shuffleboard. Nearby, there is mountain biking/hiking on the Colorado trail and fishing in the South Platte River. Campfires in the fire pits are great evening activities. Indoor activities include ping-pong and board games in the Roundhouse. There is a covered, partially walled chapel for family or group worship and other activities. That is a feature that still appeals to many groups, as it keeps costs down. However, for groups who do not wish to take on this large task, we can help with contacting a catering service. Contact the directors for details (303/838-7770). Q. How about cleaning at the end of our stay? A. Guests are asked to participate
in cleaning facilities they've used by sweeping/vacuuming floors, wiping
counters/tables/sinks, and taking trash to the dumpsters. Heavier cleaning
duty is provided by the staff. |
